Our hydrangea blooms, as with all blooms on our field grown farm, are dependent upon weather! Hydrangea blooms usually begin appearing in late June and bloom to the end of September. Most hydrangeas begin as one colour and, over the season, turn a completely different colour. We are able to enjoy a longer hydrangea season by gathering blooms in late summer and drying them to preserve their beautiful form and colour for wreaths and other crafts.
Our hydrangea blooms are sold by the bunch in stem counts of 10.
ANNABELLE
Annabelles open as a lime-green blossom and mature to a smooth white billowy bloom. Developing on strong stems, blooms often reach 10-12″ in diameter making a huge impact. Often, blooms are cut at about 6″ diameters for design work. Blooms fade to a papery tan colour later in the season, perfect for drying. (Farm Row 32)
LITTLE QUICK FIRE
Little Quick Fire is an amazing hydrangea with two cycles for design work. It is a panicle shape but as the first blooms form, tiny white pearly buds appear surrounded by a circle of delicate white petals…this stage is stunning for wedding work! As the blooms age, they develop small pink dots from which their rosy colour spreads creating their second stage of beautiful blooms. Truly an amazing plant! A favourite with florists! (Farm Row 33)
LITTLE LIME
Little Limes start out green, change to white with pink, then finish in an antique coppery burgundy. Hardy & solid all season, especially great for Fall work. (Farm Row 12)
BOBO
Bobos bloom white fringed in light pink extremely delicate petals and finish the season in dark pink and burgundy shades. (Farm Row 8)
BOMBSHELL
Star-shaped flower panicles start out white tinged with lime then turn light pink and gradually fade to coppery brown. (Farm Row 9) .
INVINCIBELLE SPIRIT
Smooth blooms like the Annabelle Hydrangea. Blooms start out white, turn to pink and deepen to dark red by the end of the growing season.
